International Network of Energy Transition Think Tanks (INETTT)

INETTT is a network of think tanks specializing in energy transition and climate change in many different countries around the world.
INETTT was established with a participation of 11 think tanks to create:

Global Training Program/Network (Fellowship program for young energy professionals, organized by Agora);
Joint publication on lessons learned;
Joint projects/studies (On-going project on Energy Transition in Southeast Asia);
Joint Library/database.

Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition (VIET SE)

Vietnam Initiative for Energy Transition (VIET SE), founded in August 2018 in Hanoi, is an independent think tank, acting as a bridge between research and policy, with a mission to accelerate the transition of the Vietnamese energy system in a sustainable and reliable manner. VIET SE’s institutional independence is rooted in the individual independence of its scholars. As a non-profit social enterprise, VIET SE commits to carry out activities for social and environmental objectives.

Iniciativa Climatica de Mexico (ICM)

Iniciativa Climatica de Mexico (ICM) is a non-profit non-governmental organization founded in 2016 dedicated to reducing Mexico’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. ICM’s experienced and knowledgeable team produces high-quality technical papers on the status of climate policy, power, and transport in Mexico, identifying trends and tendencies in these sectors. ICM has solid working relationships with different areas of the Mexican Government, the Mexican Congress, sectoral business associations, bilateral and multilateral organizations, and non-governmental organizations from the policy, energy and transport and mobility areas.

The Green Energy Strategy Institute (GESI)

The Green Energy Strategy Institute (GESI), founded in 2009, brings independent fact-based expertise to the Korean energy debate. GESI delivers policy recommendations and provides independent and transparent analysis for the development of renewables in South Korea

Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR)

Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR), based in Indonesia, is a research and advocacy institution on energy and environment policy. IESR was founded in 2007, formally as the Working Group on Power Sector Restructuring (WGPSR), the first civil society organization to encourage public participation in the formulation of policies and decisions in the Indonesian electricity sector, which at that time was not sufficiently transparent.

The Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC)

The Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities (ICSC) is an international non-government group advancing fair climate policy and low carbon, climate-resilient development. ICSC was established in 1998, based in the Philippines, it is engaged with the wider international climate and energy policy arena, particularly in Asia. It is recognized for its role in helping advance effective global climate action and the Paris climate agreement

The Renewable Energy Institute (REI)

The Renewable Energy Institute was established in the aftermath of the Fukushima Nuclear Accident, in August 2011, to establish a renewable energy based society in Japan and other countries. REI conducts scientific studies on renewable energy policies, advocates the policy makers and introduces global knowledge of renewables to the public. REI also focuses on electricity system reform, including transmission management, to create a flexible and transparent electricity market with realizing high penetration of renewables to the grid

Institut du Développement Durable et des Relations Internationales (IDDRI)

IDDRI is an independent policy research institute and a multi-stakeholder dialogue platform that identifies the conditions and proposes tools to put sustainable development at the heart of international relations and public and private policies. IDDRI’s research and influence capacities are centered on alliances and networks of expertise in many countries in Europe and internationally

SHURA Energy Transition Center (SHURA)

SHURA Energy Transition Center contributes to decarbonisation of the energy sector via an innovative energy transition platform. It caters to the need for a sustainable and broadly recognised platform for discussions on policy, technological, and economic aspects of the carbon Turkey’s energy sector. SHURA’s mission is to support the debate on transition to a low-carbon Turkey’s energy system through energy efficiency and renewable energy by fact-based analysis and best available data.

Forum Energii is a think-tank, focused on forging the foundation for a clean, innovative, safe and efficient energy sector based on data and analysis. It observes world trends, analyses data and changes in regulations. Forum Energii shares its knowledge through research activities and by supporting dialogue on the future of the power sector. Its mission is to support Poland’s implementation of climate goals in 2030. It is supported by the European Climate Foundation and EUKI.

Agora Energiewende

Agora Energiewende is a think-tank and policy institute, dedicated to supporting the success of the clean energy transition, including the German government’s climate protection and energy targets. Agora was found in 2012 by European Climate Foundation (ECF) and Mercator Foundation, based in Berlin, Germany to tackle the challenges posed by the energy transition. Since its inception, Agora Energiewende has been one of Europe’s leading energy policy think tanks.
